Kindergarten line sculptures

The kindergarten curriculum for this 9 weeks calls for a paper sculpture... which is a perfect time to review lines. The students learned how to make all kinds of lines and glued them to a base. They were so pleased with them, and begged me to let them take them home right then. Of course I let them (I didn't tell them that I didn't have room to store them...hee hee).

I love doing this project every year. I have also done it as warm cool. and in Black and white. If you staple them up to a wall they look great all on a row or in a block !! The best part is hearing the Kinders say "sculpture" !

What a great idea! I think I'll try this with K-1 this week since I'm having to teach out of a tote bag this week (book fair took over my room). Thanks for sharing!

Hi, these are fun. What kind of glue did the kids use? And the base paper, was it construction paper or something heavier, like tag board? Thanks!
